Off-campus housing
The Student Affairs Office, located in Room A207, maintains off-campus housing referrals consisting of rooms in private homes, some apartments and houses and room or roommate wanted listings. These listings are posted online. In addition to referrals, the Student Affairs Office can assist by providing area maps, hotel and motel listings and resource handbooks dealing with tenant-landlord laws.
Students wishing to live off campus are urged to begin house-hunting no later than mid-August for the Fall semester.
INTERNET FRAUD/SCAM ALERT
We have received a complaint regarding a scam that targets students and landlords via e-mail to rent property. Please be cautious of potential renters and sublessees who express a desire to rent your property sight-unseen. NEVER issue refunds for over-payment on security deposits, first month's rent or utilities until you are certain the check you received has cleared (international checks take longer than domestic). If you suspect Internet fraud, contact the police department. For more information on this and other types of Internet fraud, please visit www.firstgov.gov
