Graduate applicants

Completion of an undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited institution is required for admission to the MFA and MA degree programs at CalArts.

While a graduate applicant with a bachelor's degree will be considered for MFA admission, the faculty admission committee may make a decision to admit at the under-graduate level instead or it may admit at the graduate level on condition that the student stay more than the usual length of time to obtain the degree.
